Podcast Episode 254: Survivor Series 2016 Preview

Are you ready… for the Survivor Series? Who will survive?

We’ll be ready. Red vs Blue continues in a much lighter fashion as the WWE brands collide in Toronto. Two championships are on the line, with plenty at stake. Three big crazy matches will take place, and I think overall we’ll have fun with them. And of course, Lesnar will face Goldberg in a rematch of a match that nobody wanted – but even that should be intriguing to see.

In addition, NXT is sure to deliver – as they do – when Joe faces Nakamura and Asuka faces Mickie James. Yeah, Mickie James! Did you forget about that? Seems NXT kind of did, but I think the match will deliver regardless.

Lots of optimism. Maybe I’m just looking forward to the turkey and the pie and the bourbon. Whatever it takes, right?

For most of the last 30+ years of my life, I've been watching WWE. As a kid, Monday Night Raw hooked me from the start. From Bret Hart and Razor Ramon, to Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock, to CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.. I've witnessed the ups and downs and I'm proud to have enjoyed pro wrestling through the years.

Though I now watch in a much different fashion than I did when I was a kid (finding out Vince McMahon was the owner and Jack Tunney no more than a figurehead was like finding out Santa Claus did not exist), I feel like I have a much greater appreciation for the hard work pro wrestlers do and the things they sacrifice to entertain us.

It's still real to me, dammit!
