Podcast Episode 181.5: PWG Mystery Vortex III

This fucking guy.

This fucking guy.

This past weekend, Derek and I took a trip out to Los Angeles – or, more specifically, Reseda – to attend a show without a card: Pro Wrestling Gorilla’s Mystery Vortex III. We knew it’d be fun no matter what happened, and it turned out to be a pretty much can’t miss show. No spoilers here, but if you listen to the podcast – we run through the entire card and results. So if you’re waiting to see the show itself, bookmark this for later!

Featuring: Derek (@cap_kaveman) and Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag).

#ThrowbackThursday: Tensai Debuts

Well, you can't say they didn't try.

Well, you can’t say they didn’t try.

This week’s #TBT takes us to February of 2012 when Prince Albert / A-Train made his return to WWE after many years over in Japan. Because of his time there, it apparently seemed to be a good idea to rebrand him as a man who had perfected the blend of American and Japanese wrestling – two styles! Though he was meant to be seen as an intimidating force, he came off as a weak mix of Hakushi and The Sultan. Michael Cole sure tried to sell us on this gimmick, though.

Podcast Episode 181: Down Goes Lesnar

Well I guess she wasn't tough enough. This time..

Well I guess she wasn’t tough enough. This time..

Well, WWE sure was treading water this week. A few storylines progressed, but overall we had a bunch of filler. Kind of like this podcast!

On a positive note, Derek took some time to chat with one of the WWE Tough Enough final 40 who didn’t ultimately make the cut for the show – a personality who made herself known as a Fox Sports Arizona Girl – Danielle Kamela (@DanielleKamela).

Hosted by: ‘The Beast from the Middle East’ Darrell Johnson (@zazzumplop)

Featuring: Derek (@cap_kaveman), Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag), and ‘Dirtee Jesus’ Billi Bhatti (@DirteeJesus).

#ThrowbackThursday: R-Truth Gets Crunk with Eve Torres

#GetCrunk before hashtags were a thing.

#GetCrunk before hashtags were a thing.

We’re going to try and do this on a weekly basis. Throwback Thursday posts to stupid (yet pretty entertaining) crap in pro wrestling history. It doesn’t have to be super old, it just has to be kind of awesome and definitely hilarious. If you have any ideas for what we should do for a future #TBT, shoot us a message!

The first edition of #TBT on TheSteelCage.com brings us to 2010, when R-Truth debuted his new song, “Get Crunk”, complete with awkward dance moves from Eve Torres. Thankfully, she moved on to have a solid run as champion before ultimately leaving WWE… We haven’t forgotten this mess, though!

Podcast Episode 180: Money in the Bank 2015 Results

Redefining #BrieMode.

Redefining #BrieMode.

Say it with me now: BROCK LESNAR!!!! He’s back, and he wants revenge on Seth Rollins. It seems as though even The Authority knows when something is truly best for business..

In addition, we discuss Money in the Bank – from the pretty entertaining briefcase match, to the fantastic Owens / Cena 2, to the fun championship match. I’d also be a fool to not mention what Kevin Owens did on Monday, doing us all a favor and decimating Machine Gun Kelly.

Have I said ‘wrestling is fun’ lately? Because it is.

Hosted by: Joshua Schlag (@thesteelcage / @schlizzag)

Featuring: ‘A Bomb’ Adam Hess (@ahess49), Derek (@cap_kaveman), and Bryan ‘Pipe Bomb’ Gregston (@guitarsalad).
