Podcast Episode 369.5: All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing Press Conference

We took a road trip up to Las Vegas to cover AEW’s event hyping May’s Double or Nothing event at the MGM Grand. We covered the event on social media, partook in the post-event press conference, and even were on the scene for radio interviews the next day. We learned a lot, and are trying to remain cautiously optimistic about the whole thing. I say it that way because it’s easy to get caught up in the hype and feel the energy of those guys and the fans – there’s a ton of potential with All Elite Wrestling – and it could be a good thing for WWE and the entire landscape of pro wrestling + sports entertainment.

For most of the last 30+ years of my life, I've been watching WWE. As a kid, Monday Night Raw hooked me from the start. From Bret Hart and Razor Ramon, to Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock, to CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.. I've witnessed the ups and downs and I'm proud to have enjoyed pro wrestling through the years.

Though I now watch in a much different fashion than I did when I was a kid (finding out Vince McMahon was the owner and Jack Tunney no more than a figurehead was like finding out Santa Claus did not exist), I feel like I have a much greater appreciation for the hard work pro wrestlers do and the things they sacrifice to entertain us.

It's still real to me, dammit!
