WWE Terminates Hulk Hogan

It was a fun ride while it lasted…brother.

In what was a developing story while we were recording this week’s episode of the podcast and still is at time of writing this, it seems that the WWE has parted ways with Hulk Hogan over what could best be described as a racist tirade on his infamous sex tape that is the main focus of an ongoing lawsuit between Hogan and Gawker.

It started with rumors about the alleged tirade and internet users noticing last night that Hogan’s profile and merchandise had been scrubbed from WWE.com.

WWE then released the following statement this morning confirming the rumors:

“WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide.”

According to Radar and The Enquirer, the transcripts of the conversation in question have been filed in a Florida court to prevent them from being released.

WWE has acted quickly in ending their relationship with Hogan prior to this information becoming public.

Hogan tweeted the following last night once shit began to hit the fan:

Derek Montilla http://www.arizonasports.com/

Derek Montilla is the host of Minutes With The Mayor podcast and co-host of The Steel Cage podcast. He's also the Mayor of Reseda, CA. Which isn't a real city, but you can have mail sent there. When he's not raising his daughter to be the biggest New Day mark on the planet or acting as the highest ranking fictitious official in a municipal LA neighborhood government, he is covering the Arizona Diamondbacks and other local Arizona sports teams for 98.7 FM & ArizonaSports.com. You can follow Derek on Twitter at Twitter.com/cap_kaveman or email him at Derek@TheSteelCage.com.

Until next time, this meeting is adjourned.
